UK braces for another heatwave with temperatures potentially exceeding 30C

The United Kingdom is anticipating another surge in heat, with forecasters predicting temperatures could climb to 30 degrees Celsius or higher over the weekend. This comes after a period of record-breaking warmth in late May, which saw the hottest days of the month recorded across the country.

While the early part of the week is expected to bring unsettled weather, including sunshine and rain showers, a significant change is anticipated by the weekend. Weather experts indicate that temperatures will rise above the seasonal average, which typically hovers around 21 degrees Celsius for southern England. The possibility of reaching 30 degrees Celsius, or even surpassing it, is now on the horizon.

We are expecting temperatures to rise heading into the weekend, particularly on Saturday and Sunday.

The recent heatwave in late May saw temperatures reach a high of 35.1 degrees Celsius on May 25th and 26th, setting new records for the month. Meteorologist Dan Stroud from the Met Office explained that the upcoming shift in weather patterns is due to a change in the upper airflow over Britain, which is directing unstable weather fronts from the Atlantic across the country.
