Saturday will bring a mixed bag of weather. Scotland and Northern Ireland can expect sunshine mixed with scattered showers, some potentially heavy and thundery. Moderate to fresh south-westerly winds will be present in these areas, with temperatures reaching the low twenties in western parts of the UK. However, central, eastern, and southeastern England will still experience hot conditions, with highs in the high twenties or low thirties. Isolated thunderstorms are possible in these regions, accompanied by lighter winds and strong sunshine.

Temperatures on Saturday will drop back to the mid to high teens for many, although still around 17-20C for the south-east of England and there have been some overnight thunderstorms too.

Sunday is forecast to mark the definitive end of the heatwave for all. Weather fronts moving east overnight will bring cloud and scattered showers, particularly across southern England. The cooler air will follow, with Scotland and Northern Ireland seeing temperatures in the mid to high teens, possibly reaching the low twenties in eastern Scotland. England and Wales will be warmer, with many areas reaching the low twenties, and the southeast finally experiencing relief with mid-twenties temperatures. This shift signals a return to more typical summer conditions after the extreme heat.
