Ukraine attacks deep into Russia with homemade missiles

Ukraine has escalated its attacks on Russian territory, employing domestically manufactured missiles for strikes deep within Russia, a rare deployment of such weaponry. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed these actions on June 10, stating that Ukraine continues to implement its long-range measures against Russian military and oil industry facilities.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine's FP-5 Flamingo missiles struck a military factory in Cheboksary, which supplies components for drones and missiles to the Russian army. The Kuibyshev refinery in the Samara region, located over 900 km from the front lines, was also targeted. Additionally, the Security Service of Ukraine successfully hit two oil infrastructure facilities in the Vladimir region, approximately 700 km away.

Specifically, last night Ukraine's FP-5 Flamingo missile hit a military factory in Cheboksary, which supplies the Russian army with components for drones and missiles.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian armed forces, Special Operations Forces, Drone Systems Forces, and the Defense Intelligence Agency for their precision and efforts. The Flamingo missile, developed by Ukrainian defense technology company Fire Point, is reportedly capable of carrying a 1,150 kg warhead and has a range of up to 3,000 km. This capability allows Ukraine to strike targets far inside Russian territory, expanding the reach of its offensive operations.
