Ukraine attacks Regional Court with drones 500 kilometers east of Moscow

Ukraine launched drone attacks on the Regional Court in Nizhni Novgorod, a city situated approximately 500 kilometers east of Moscow. The governor of the region, Gleb Nikitin, confirmed that the court building sustained damage.

In Nizhni Novgorod, the headquarters of the Regional Court was damaged.

Nikitin reported on Telegram that several drones were downed over the Nizhni Novgorod region early Thursday morning. Initial reports indicated no casualties resulting from the attack. He assured the public that specialists were on-site, air defenses remained active, and emergency services were working intensely. He urged residents to remain calm and adhere to safety measures.

Photos and videos circulating on the Ukrainian channel Exilenova+ appeared to show damage to the dome of the Regional Court building, located in the city center. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also issued a statement regarding the drone activity. The ministry reported that Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed a total of 62 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight. These drones were reportedly targeting five Russian regions, the annexed Crimean peninsula, and the Sea of Azov.
