Ukraine is marking the 35th anniversary of its independence, with national leaders convening in Kyiv for the occasion. The celebrations are underscored by significant international support, highlighted by the presence of British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

Burnham, in his first foreign visit since becoming prime minister, is in Kyiv to preside over his inaugural coalition meeting. A key agenda item is the presentation of draft proposals aimed at enabling Ukraine to domestically produce its own long-range missiles.
