Ukraine recaptures over 700 sq km of territory in counteroffensive

Ukraine has reclaimed more than 700 square kilometers of territory in its ongoing counteroffensive, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Wednesday. He stated that 26 villages in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions have been liberated and are now under Ukrainian control.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a US-based think tank, has published data corroborating Ukraine's territorial gains. According to ISW's assessment, Ukraine recaptured approximately 626 square kilometers between January 29 and August 12 of this year.
