Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is reportedly weighing a significant shift in military leadership, with Maj. Gen. Mykhailo Drapatyi emerging as a potential successor to Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi as commander of the armed forces. Sources close to the discussions suggest the decision could come within days, though a final decision has not yet been made, with 11 candidacies being evaluated.

This potential shake-up occurs amid a severe political and military crisis, exacerbated by the recent dismissal of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Umerov's removal, just six months into his tenure, sparked widespread protests across Ukraine, marking the longest public demonstrations related to the war's leadership since the Russian invasion began.
