Ukraine says Russia lost 1,540 soldiers over the past day

Ukraine’s General Staff says Russia lost 1,540 military personnel over the past day, raising its estimate of total Russian personnel losses since Feb. 24, 2022, to 1,497,980.

The update also lists six additional armored combat vehicles, 51 artillery systems, seven multiple-launch rocket systems and four air-defense systems among the reported losses. Ukraine said Russian forces also lost nine ground robotic systems, 1,473 operational-tactical drones, 591 vehicles and fuel tankers, and three special vehicles or other pieces of equipment during the same period.

The overall Ukrainian estimate includes 12,332 tanks, 25,284 armored combat vehicles, 49,311 artillery systems, 2,103 multiple-launch rocket systems and 1,609 air-defense systems. It also lists 441 fixed-wing aircraft, 355 helicopters, 502,717 operational-tactical drones, 5,070 cruise missiles, 35 ships or boats, two submarines, 145,026 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,647 special vehicles and other equipment.

The General Staff said the information was being confirmed. The figures were cited by Ukrainska Pravda from the General Staff’s Facebook update.
