Ukraine Strikes Russian Missile Factory, Zelensky Says

The Ukrainian military has targeted a Russian missile factory and a military airfield, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The strikes reportedly hit the Progress Rocket and Space Center in Samara, approximately 900 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, using "Flamingo" cruise missiles.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces reportedly struck the Savasleyka military airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This base is known to house fighter jets used in Russian attacks against Ukraine. Zelensky stated that these actions aim to decrease Russia's capacity to wage war.

"It is important that Russia's war potential is reduced," Zelensky wrote on the social media platform X. "Peace is necessary, and this must be felt in Russia – through concrete damage to specific facilities."

The Ukrainian president's remarks suggest a strategic effort to inflict tangible damage within Russia, thereby increasing pressure on Moscow to end the conflict. The reported strikes indicate a widening reach of Ukrainian operations.
