Ukraine Strikes Russian Naval Base, Vows to Dismantle 'War Machine'

Ukraine launched a significant strike on a Russian naval base in Novorossiysk, damaging four warships, including missile carriers, and port infrastructure. The operation, conducted overnight between August 11 and 12, utilized a unique combination of domestic weapons, including "Palanytsia" jet drones, Neptune missiles, and naval drones.

Jevhenij Khmara, acting minister of defense, declared that Ukrainian forces would dismantle the "Russian war machine" by destroying its infrastructure, fleet, logistics, and industrial facilities supporting the war effort. He highlighted the success of the synchronized attack, stating Russia was unable to counter Ukraine's combined strike capabilities.

Our operation in Novorossiysk was unique. The combined strike included missiles, attack drones, and naval drones.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attack on the Novorossiysk naval base, noting it was carried out with domestic weaponry. He emphasized that the base, located over 300 kilometers from the front lines, is the last major stronghold for the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. Zelenskyy thanked the armed forces, security services, and intelligence agencies for their precision and results, asserting that the occupying fleet and its supporting infrastructure will not be safe as long as Russian aggression continues. He also reiterated that all reasonable proposals for diplomacy remain on the table.
