Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia kill at least 8, injure over 60

Ukrainian drones struck two major warehouses and an oil depot in Russia overnight, killing at least eight people and wounding over 60, Russian officials reported Saturday. The attacks targeted facilities in the Tambov and Moscow regions, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said were used to supply components for drones and navigation equipment.

These facilities were used by the aggressor to supply sanctioned components for the production of drones and navigation equipment.

In the Tambov region, seven night shift workers died and 25 were injured at a Wildberries warehouse in Kotovsk. Another Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, east of Moscow, also caught fire. An oil depot in Noginsk, near Elektrostal, was hit, prompting evacuations of a nearby maternity hospital and residential building. A total of 37 people were wounded in the Moscow region, with one later dying in the hospital. Drone debris also hit a kindergarten and a residential building in Elektrostal and Vladimir, respectively, causing fires that were extinguished without casualties.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed its air defenses intercepted 379 Ukrainian drones over 19 Russian regions, Crimea, the Sea of Azov, and the Black Sea. This marks a continuation of Ukraine's aerial campaign targeting infrastructure and military sites within Russia, aiming to pressure Moscow over its ongoing invasion.
