Ukrainian drones kill two in Russia, strike Wildberries warehouse

Ukrainian drone attacks overnight killed at least two people in Russia's Volga region, striking targets including a warehouse operated by Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, regional officials reported Sunday. Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev of the Samara region stated that Ukrainian drones attacked a Wildberries warehouse located approximately 800 kilometers (500 miles) from Ukraine's most advanced military positions within Russian-held territory. Information regarding potential casualties at the warehouse was still being clarified. Ukrainian forces have intensified strikes deeper within Russia, targeting economic and energy infrastructure in an effort to hinder Moscow's war-making capabilities. Since July 18, approximately a dozen Wildberries facilities have been targeted in an attempt to disrupt the operations of the company, often described as Russia's equivalent to Amazon. In the neighboring Saratov region, a strike on a residential building in the city of Engels resulted in the deaths of two people, according to Governor Roman Busargin. Civil infrastructure sustained damage in both Engels and the city of Saratov. Both cities have been frequent targets of Ukrainian attacks in recent years; Saratov hosts a major oil refinery, and Engels is home to a military airbase. Ukraine has not yet issued any immediate comment on the strikes.
