UNAM control exam set for August 12-19, with sites in four states

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has announced that its control exam will take place from August 12 to 19, with testing centers established in four states beyond Mexico City. This measure comes after irregularities were reported during the 2026-2027 admission process.

UNAM committed to setting up accessible venues for students residing outside the capital. The exam will be administered to 58,000 applicants. University officials stated that this control exam is a recommendation from the Technical Commission following a failed online test administered by Territorium life, and does not necessarily indicate a lack of integrity.

Aspiring students who meet the minimum score requirements can access their personal identification keys on "TU SITIO" starting Friday, August 7. This portal will provide details on their exam date, time, location, required documentation, and a map of the venue. The designated exam sites include León, Guanajuato (August 12-13), Oaxaca, Oaxaca (August 13), Tijuana, Baja California (August 15-16), and Mexico City (August 17-19).

UNAM reminded applicants that their assigned folio is for personal use and should not be shared. The Directorate General of School Administration (DGAE) has provided a support website for any inquiries. The university also confirmed that all students previously notified of their acceptance for the 2026 UNAM careers, and those who achieved a score equal to or higher than the minimum required in the online exam, will be subject to this control evaluation. Classes for new undergraduate students are set to begin on August 31, while returning students will resume classes on August 17, 2026.
