Undersecretary Pavez assures 'there has been no improvisation' in government's response

Chilean Undersecretary of the Interior, Máximo Pavez, asserted on Sunday that the government's response to the ongoing weather emergency has been meticulously planned. He refuted any notion of improvisation, emphasizing that the state's management of the crisis is built on months of prior preparation.

"The Minister of the Interior was very clear yesterday. The Government and the State, its institutions, have carried out planning for months. There has been no improvisation here," Pavez stated. He explained that the extreme magnitude of the weather event, characterized by abnormal rainfall, was inevitably going to cause significant impact across various regions.

Pavez detailed that the government has maintained daily coordination with all affected regions and technical bodies involved in the national risk prevention and disaster management system. This consistent communication, he noted, has enabled the timely deployment of resources and effective on-the-ground responses to mitigate the effects of the storm.
