Unidentified aerial object entered Polish airspace; investigation underway

An unidentified aerial object breached Polish airspace early Thursday, triggering an immediate response from the military and a high-level government investigation. The object was detected at 3:40 a.m. and an F-16 fighter jet was dispatched to identify and intercept it. However, the object vanished from radar at 3:46 a.m., with its probable crash site identified near Tarnawa-Kolonia, according to the Operational Command of the Armed Forces.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk convened a coordination team, including the Defense Minister and relevant services, to address the incursion. He stated on platform X that the team had been working for hours at the scene, providing him with continuous updates. The breach occurred during a large-scale Russian missile attack on western Ukraine.

In the night, Polish airspace was violated. The SPO13 procedure was immediately implemented and alarm sirens were activated as the fastest way to inform about the threat. It lasted about 13 minutes. MSWiA services have been working on site since early morning.

Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński also confirmed the airspace violation on platform X, noting that the SPO13 procedure was initiated and alarm sirens were activated to inform the public of the threat. The incident lasted approximately 13 minutes, and emergency services began working at the site early in the morning. Kierwiński was en route to the Lublin region to participate in the coordination meeting called by the prime minister.
