Universidad Católica president explains departure of technical director

Matías Claro, president of Universidad Católica's operating company, has clarified the departure of José María Buljubasich, the club's technical director for 16 years. Buljubasich leaves after a successful tenure that saw the club win 12 titles, including seven First Division championships.

Claro acknowledged that such a significant change was not immediately planned. However, he explained that the urgency to prepare for future transfer windows hastened the board's decisions. "We needed to make a change in the sporting area and needed time to find a person who has the necessary margin to work in the next transfer window, with a high bar set by Tati," Claro said.

The club president emphasized that internal improvements were already underway. The ultimate goal is to assemble an increasingly competitive squad for upcoming challenges. "We were already strengthening the sporting area, and the truth is that the time was now to have the necessary time to do serious work and have a better squad," he concluded.
