Universitas Nusa Mandiri Student Wins Bronze at National Taekwondo Championship

Pangrasya Christina Rahanmitu, a student at Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), has achieved a significant victory, securing third place in the Senior Female Under 57 Kg Kyorugi category at the 7th Kapolri Cup National Taekwondo Championship. The event, organized by the Indonesian National Police (Polri), took place from July 9-12, 2026, at the Indoor Stadium in Tangerang Selatan, Banten.

This prestigious competition drew over 2,000 athletes from across Indonesia, including universities like UNM. Pangrasya's performance demonstrated that UNM students are not only academically strong but also capable of national-level athletic competition. The victory underscores the university's commitment to fostering well-rounded individuals.

Taopik Hidayat, the UNM Taekwondo coach, expressed pride in Pangrasya's accomplishment. He noted that the success was the result of consistent training, high discipline, focus, and a strong competitive mindset. Hidayat highlighted that sports play a crucial role in shaping student character, instilling discipline, hard work, sportsmanship, and leadership skills essential for professional life.

"We are very proud of Pangrasya's achievement. This success shows that Universitas Nusa Mandiri students can balance academic and non-academic achievements. Behind the medal lies a long process of disciplined training, a never-give-up spirit, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Hopefully, this achievement will inspire other students to dare to develop their best potential," Hidayat said in a press release on Friday (14/8/2026). He added that sports competitions teach valuable life lessons, preparing students to face challenges, learn from failure, and strive for improvement.
