UNM Pilot Event Selects Indonesian Innovators for Global Competition

Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) is cultivating the next generation of global innovators through its YESIST12 Pilot UNM 2026 event. This competition serves as a crucial platform for young Indonesian talent to showcase their technological solutions and gain a competitive edge on the international stage.

The intensive two-day event, held from June 8-9, 2026, concluded with the presentation of numerous cutting-edge innovations developed by students from various regions of Indonesia. This pilot program acts as a preliminary selection process for the prestigious international Youth Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Innovation Talent (YESIST12) competition.

This year's event saw participation from 23 institutions, including state and private universities, high schools, and industry representatives. The competition was divided into five categories: Innovation Challenge, Maker Fair, Special Track, WePower, and Junior Einstein. Participants presented their solutions, which included advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, health technology, environmental management systems, and sustainable food innovations.

Arif Hidayat, UNM's Vice Rector II for Non-Academic Affairs, praised the high caliber of innovations presented. He highlighted that YESIST12 provides a strategic ecosystem for creativity, research, and technological entrepreneurship. "We see a very significant increase, both in the number of participants and the quality of innovations presented," Hidayat stated, noting that many ideas possess not only technological merit but also practical implementation potential and tangible social impact. UNM, as a Digital Business Campus, is committed to encouraging students to develop projects that extend beyond academic exercises.
