UNM Seeks to Ensure Its Community Grant Delivers Lasting Impact

Universitas Nusa Mandiri held a progress review for a community-service grant intended to help prevent wasting among toddlers in Pamulang Timur, South Tangerang. The session took place at the RW 011 community hall and brought together 13 lecturers, students and local PKK health volunteers, with the neighborhood head, Agus Effendi, also attending.

The program, titled “User-Friendly One-Click Nutrition Technology for Integrated Early Intervention in Toddler Nutrition to Prevent Wasting,” aims to give community volunteers a practical tool for monitoring children’s nutritional conditions and responding early to problems.

Siti Fauziah of UNM’s Community Service Unit opened the meeting. Dr. Sukmawati Anggraeni Putri then presented the progress report. The review examined whether the project’s logbook matched actual spending, whether its statement of responsibility for expenditure was ready, and how far implementation had advanced in the community.

We also want to ensure that the technology developed truly addresses the partners’ needs and provides real benefits for the community.

Andi Saryoko, head of UNM’s Institute for Research and Community Service, said the evaluation should go beyond administrative compliance. “Monitoring and evaluation is an important instrument for LPPM to ensure that every grant program runs accountably, according to plan, and has measurable achievements. Reviewer Dr. Linda Marlinda led the evaluation, which included questions, feedback and suggestions for the grant team. She said the university was seeking more than complete documentation. “What we encourage is not only complete reporting, but also the sustainability of the program. Collaboration among lecturers, students and the community must produce solutions that are relevant, can be developed further, and have a lasting impact,” she said. UNM said the direct review with local partners reflected its commitment to technology-based research and community programs tied to public needs.
