Unreleased Fong Fei-fei Recording of 'Jia Hou' Released 15 Years Later

A previously unheard recording of the late Taiwanese singer Fong Fei-fei performing the classic Hokkien song "Jia Hou" has been released, 15 years after it was recorded. Fong Fei-fei, known as the "Queen of Hats," passed away in 2012 from lung adenocarcinoma. Before her death, she had expressed her intention to cover Jiang Hui's iconic song "Jia Hou" for a planned concert in Taipei. This unfulfilled wish has now been realized with the release of Fong Fei-fei's rehearsal recording. The audio, meticulously restored and remastered, captures her distinctive vocal style. The song is featured on the new album "Feng Sheng Zai Xu," released to commemorate what would have been her 73rd birthday. The album aims to fulfill Fong Fei-fei's unfinished concert setlist. The accompanying music video for "Jia Hou" features eight women of different ages and professions, portraying their everyday emotions, with a special cameo by one of Fong Fei-fei's close friends from Hong Kong. The video concludes with a surprise tribute using Fong Fei-fei's previously unseen photographs.
