Unsettled Danish Summer Weather Dominates the Week

Danish summer weather is set for a turbulent week, according to Mette Zhang, a duty meteorologist at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI).

"Really stable and warm summer weather is not in sight for the coming week," she stated. Monday is expected to be dry with temperatures ranging from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, despite a lack of sunshine.

However, the weather will shift on Monday evening as a front from the North Sea moves inland. This front could bring significant rainfall, with Zhang noting the potential for localized, heavy showers, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms. Up to 15 millimeters of rain could fall in some areas.

The front looks like it will move over the country during the evening and night and can bring a lot of rain.

Tuesday will begin with cloud cover, particularly in northern and northwestern Denmark, as the rain front lingers. The day is expected to clear up with some sunshine and only isolated drizzles. Wednesday and Thursday will offer more sunshine interspersed with scattered showers, though temperatures will remain moderate, reaching a high of 17 or 18 degrees Celsius on the warmest days.

Before the front comes ashore, it looks like some showers can form, which can be locally heavy and perhaps with thunder.

The pattern is expected to continue into Friday, with some sun and isolated showers. The beginning of the weekend also looks unpromising, with Friday potentially bringing cloudy skies and rain from the west, followed by scattered showers.

Temperatures are not particularly impressive on any of the days with up to 17 or 18 degrees where it is warmest.
