Unsil Launches SiMoRe, Enabling Public to Monitor Health Services More Actively

Universitas Siliwangi (Unsil) has introduced an innovative mobile application, SiMoRe (Sistem Monitoring dan Reminder), designed to enhance community involvement in health services at the Sangkali Community Health Center (Puskesmas) and Ciangir Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in Tasikmalaya City.

Funded by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) of the Ministry of Education, High Technology, and Science, the SiMoRe project is a collaborative effort between Unsil's Informatics and Nutrition study programs. It specifically targets participants in the Chronic Disease Management Program and cadres of Posyandu Ciangir.

Siti Yuliyanti, the project leader, explained that SiMoRe aims to bolster public engagement, encouraging more active utilization of health services and facilitating feedback on received care. "Through SiMoRe, we hope to strengthen public engagement so that the community is more active in utilizing health services, providing input on the services received, and supporting the realization of more optimal health services in the working area of Puskesmas Sangkali," she stated.

The development of SiMoRe goes beyond mere digitalization; it emphasizes community participation throughout the health service process. Yuliyanti noted that the quality of health services depends not only on facilities and healthcare professionals but also significantly on the involvement of the community as recipients of care.

Following its launch and a demonstration of its features, the SiMoRe application was handed over to Puskesmas Sangkali for sustainable use. Unsil hopes the system will eventually be implemented across all services at the health center. Head of Puskesmas Sangkali, Isep Deni Herdiana, welcomed the collaboration, seeing SiMoRe as a crucial step in integrating digital innovation into public health services, potentially improving patient compliance and feedback mechanisms. Oban, head of Posyandu Ciangir, also expressed optimism, highlighting the system's utility for pregnant women and families with toddlers.
