UPSI ready to help Lovely Suzana continue her studies

Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) has proactively addressed the needs of a prospective student, Lovely Suzana Augustine, after her situation gained attention on social media. The university's Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Norkhalid Salimin, confirmed that UPSI has gathered information directly from Lovely Suzana to understand her requirements.

He added that checks confirmed Lovely Suzana is indeed a future UPSI student and that the university is taking steps to ensure her needs for starting her studies are adequately met.

Lovely Suzana, who completed her Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), has been offered admission to pursue a Bachelor of Education in Moral Studies with Honours at UPSI. Her enrollment is scheduled for September 12. University checks revealed she comes from a low-income household, a factor being considered in monitoring her welfare. Currently, Lovely Suzana has made preparations for registration and has RM1,500 for associated fees.

In the case of Lovely, checks found that she is indeed a future UPSI student and has taken initial steps to ensure her needs for commencing studies are given due attention.

The primary need identified for Lovely Suzana is a laptop to aid in her learning and academic tasks. Previously, reports indicated that Lovely, the youngest of four siblings, required RM2,232.35 for registration. Her father, a former soldier, passed away in 2017, and her mother works as a school cleaner with an approximate monthly income of RM800.

Currently, Lovely informed that she has made preparations for registration and has RM1,500 for registration and study fee payments.
