Uruguay braces for rising temperatures next week

Uruguayans can anticipate a welcome rise in temperatures starting next week, offering a reprieve from the recent cold spell caused by polar air. Meteorologist Mario Bidegain forecasts that the mercury will begin to climb on Tuesday, August 25, in Montevideo, with a minimum of 5°C and a maximum of 16°C. The national weather institute, Inumet, corroborates this outlook for the capital, predicting a partly cloudy day.

The warming trend is expected to intensify by Wednesday, August 26. Bidegain predicts minimum temperatures of 10°C and highs of 21°C in Montevideo, with cloudy conditions. Inumet's forecast for the rest of the country on the same day shows similar warming: highs of 24°C in the Northwest, 23°C in the Northeast, 21°C in the Southwest, and 20°C in the Center-South and East regions.

However, a slight shift is anticipated for Thursday, August 27. Both Bidegain and Inumet foresee an increased chance of rain and a minor dip in temperatures in Montevideo, though still remaining mild. Bidegain estimates a range of 13°C to 19°C, while Inumet places it between 12°C and 17°C. For the rest of the country, Inumet forecasts highs between 19°C and 23°C, with minimums ranging from 11°C to 14°C.

Looking ahead to Friday, August 28, Bidegain expects pleasant conditions in Montevideo, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 12°C and 17°C. Inumet indicates agreeable weather nationwide, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 21°C. This milder pattern is set to continue into the weekend, with Inumet projecting temperatures between 9°C and 21°C across the country on Saturday, August 29, signaling a comfortable start to the next weekend.
