Uruguay's Deputy Speaker Meets Venezuelan Opposition, Urges Human Rights Respect

Rodrigo Goñi, president of Uruguay's Chamber of Deputies, met with Venezuelan opposition figure Juan Pablo Guanipa in Montevideo, signaling Uruguay's commitment to human rights and democratic recovery in Venezuela. Goñi stated on social media that Uruguay must support any path toward freeing political prisoners, enabling the return of exiles, and respecting human rights and the Venezuelan people's sovereign will.

Guanipa, in turn, thanked Goñi and the Uruguayan people for their firm support of the Venezuelan cause. He outlined a clear transition path for Venezuela, emphasizing the release of political prisoners, the safe return of exiles, and the necessity of free elections. He expressed hope that Venezuela would soon be free.
