The Uruguayan Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) is seeking a Data and Information Analyst to bolster consumer protection efforts. The role, based in Montevideo, requires professionals with a university degree in statistics or a postgraduate degree in data science, along with a minimum of one year's experience.

The initial 12-month contract offers a nominal salary of $64,986 (January 2026 values) for a 40-hour work week. After a probationary period and a favorable evaluation, the employee may be appointed permanently.

The analyst will provide technical-statistical advice, analyze data, develop reports and indicators, and conduct studies on consumer complaints and enforcement actions. Key tasks include data treatment, statistical indicator development, survey support, public policy evaluation, and designing information systems for consumer defense. The role also emphasizes ensuring data quality and improving analytical methodologies.
