Last year, the Democratic representative from Texas was widely criticized for referring to Texas Governor Greg Abbott as "Hot Wheels." Abbott, who has used a wheelchair for over 40 years, was the target of Crockett's remarks during a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles. Republicans accused her of inciting "shameful" and "hateful" messages, while Abbott himself called the comment "a disaster by the Democrats."
