US, Iran, mediators meet in Switzerland to finalize Middle East conflict resolution details

Delegations from the United States, Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar convened at Switzerland's Burgenstock resort on Sunday for crucial "technical-level" talks. The meeting's objective was to iron out the specifics of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, a pact signed by Tehran and Washington aimed at ending the protracted conflict in the Middle East.

Several significant issues were on the agenda, including the potential lifting of the US blockade against Iran, the reopening of the vital Strait of Hormuz, and the unfreezing of Iranian assets. Discussions also covered Israeli strikes on Lebanon and Hezbollah, as well as Iran's oil sales.

The day's proceedings began with bilateral talks between the involved parties, followed by quadrilateral discussions in the afternoon that included the mediator nations, Pakistan and Qatar.
