US Pledges $500,000 in Aid for Flood-Hit Nepal

The United States has pledged $500,000 in aid to Nepal after severe floods ravaged the Rasuwa district, near the Tibetan border. The disaster has resulted in at least 160 confirmed deaths and left hundreds of people unaccounted for. The assistance aims to address the immediate needs of the affected populations.

The Trump administration is directing these funds toward critical relief efforts. According to the State Department, the aid will be used to provide emergency shelters, essential relief items, and crucial water, sanitation, and hygiene assistance to the communities devastated by the floods. This support will be channeled through the organization Catholic Relief Services (CRS).

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio conveyed the nation's solidarity with Nepal through a message posted on X. He stated, "We express our solidarity and unite in prayer for the Nepalese people following these devastating floods." The U.S. government's response highlights international efforts to support Nepal in its recovery from the natural disaster.
