US police arrest man carrying guillotine in Washington

Authorities in Washington apprehended a 35-year-old man who was carrying a guillotine in the bed of his pickup truck. The individual, identified as Philan-Tam-Duy Le, was arrested on Tuesday and subsequently charged with "possession of a dangerous weapon."

The truck was parked illegally on a street near the U.S. Capitol and the Supreme Court building at the time of the arrest. Police reported seizing the guillotine. Investigators are examining the suspect's background to understand his motives for traveling to the nation's capital, as he resided in California.

Kelvin Le, the arrested man's older brother, informed the Los Angeles Times that the guillotine was likely intended as a "symbol of disapproval." He stated his brother did not align with either major U.S. political party and expressed dislike for both President Donald Trump and California Governor Gavin Newsom. Kelvin Le added, "I don't think he was going to hurt anyone."
