US Representative praises 'Donald Trump' park project in Bucharest

Paolo Zampolli, the US Special Representative for Global Partnerships in the Trump administration, has lauded the planned "Donald Trump" Romanian-American Friendship Park in Bucharest's Sector 4. Zampolli spoke by phone with Sector 4 Mayor Daniel Băluță, who presented renderings of the park and confirmed construction would start by early September.

Together, the flags, the American and the Romanian, stand as symbols of the lasting partnership between our two nations.

The park project commemorates the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence. Zampolli emphasized the symbolism of the American and Romanian flags standing together as emblems of the enduring partnership between the two nations. The park will span more than four hectares, extending the existing Tudor Arghezi Park.

Mayor Băluță stated that the park idea emerged about three months prior, following discussions with Zampolli and the US Ambassador to Bucharest, Darryl Nirenberg. Băluță thanked Zampolli for his support, calling the park a "truly special project." He expressed hope that the park will become a landmark for Bucharest residents and a symbol of mutual respect, friendship, and shared values between Romania and the United States.

Băluță underscored the Strategic Partnership with the United States as a crucial guarantee for Romania's democratic and Western trajectory. He believes any project strengthening this relationship benefits Romania and its people. Zampolli was invited to Bucharest for the groundbreaking ceremony.
