US Strikes Iran for Sixth Night, Targeting Infrastructure; Chabahar Tower Reportedly Collapses

The United States intensified its airstrikes on Iran for a sixth consecutive night, targeting key infrastructure such as bridges and a vital port facility as tensions escalate around the Strait of Hormuz. A surveillance tower at Iran's Chabahar port, located on the Gulf of Oman, reportedly collapsed after repeated U.S. attacks, according to a photograph shared by U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

While Iranian state media confirmed a third wave of attacks on the facility, they did not immediately verify the tower's collapse. Iran claims the tower was used for monitoring commercial traffic in the port, which is also linked to the operations of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Chabahar port, a crucial trade route for landlocked Afghanistan, has been a target of U.S. strikes before, with its development supported by India.

Iranian state media also reported that U.S. airstrikes hit several bridges in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan, including those connected to the city of Bandar Khamir near the Strait of Hormuz. Targets allegedly included the Gariveh Bridge, the Latidan village bridge, two bridges on the Kahoorestan–Lar road, a partially constructed bridge linking Bandar-e Khamir, Keshar, and Bandar Abbas, and a bridge in Maru village.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the latest operation was the sixth consecutive night of U.S. attacks on Iran. American forces, utilizing fighter jets, drones, and warships, conducted precise strikes on dozens of Iranian military targets, including coastal surveillance facilities, air defense systems, military logistics infrastructure, and naval capabilities. CENTCOM aims to further degrade Iran's military capabilities and hold Tehran accountable for recent attacks on merchant vessels.

In response, the Iranian military announced it had launched drone attacks on U.S. military positions and support logistics centers in Kuwait. The Iranian news agency Fars reported on the statement.
