US to face Peru, Chile, Mexico and Canada in friendlies

The U.S. Men's National Team is set to embark on a new chapter under head coach Mauricio Pochettino, beginning with a series of home friendlies. The team will face Peru on September 26 in Orlando, followed by a match against Chile in St. Louis, Missouri, three days later. They will then renew their CONCACAF rivalry with Mexico on October 3 in Glendale, Arizona, before concluding the series against northern neighbors Canada in St. Paul, Minnesota. U.S. Soccer announced that Pochettino has agreed to lead the men's team through to the 2030 World Cup. Pochettino expressed excitement about starting this new phase in front of home fans, emphasizing the goal of playing the best possible opponents to provide diverse experiences for the players. The team's recent performance in the World Cup, where they reached the last 16, saw them finish first in their group ahead of Australia, Paraguay, and Turkey, achieving their highest-ever point total in the tournament. They defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32 before their campaign ended with a 4-1 loss to Belgium.
