The United States Treasury Department has taken decisive action, sanctioning key figures involved in the so-called "Gaza flotilla" movement. These individuals, linked to organizations designated as fronts for Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), are now subject to financial restrictions.

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent explicitly condemned the flotilla as a "ludicrous attempt to undermine President Trump’s successful progress toward lasting peace in the region." This move underscores the administration's commitment to dismantling the financial infrastructure supporting terrorism.

Among those sanctioned are Saif Abukeshek and Hisham Abu Mahfuz for their ties to the PCPA, previously sanctioned by OFAC for allegedly serving as a Hamas front. Mohammed Khatib and Jaldia Abubakra were designated for their roles within Samidoun, an organization labeled a terrorist front by the US and Canada.
