Vance stated on X that Nowak died "abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared about him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit." He further asserted that Nowak would be alive if "European elites of recent generations had stood firm against the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it." A spokesperson for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer responded that the Nowak family does not wish for his death to be used to create further division or hatred. The spokesperson also sharply criticized individuals attempting to interfere in British democracy and sow discord. The case has led to widespread anger and protests in Britain. Prominent figures like Nigel Farage and Elon Musk have also weighed in, amplifying right-wing arguments that ethnic minorities receive greater police protection due to fears of racism accusations.
