The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued a stern warning to both Nigerians and foreigners, urging them to exclusively use official online platforms for passport and visa applications. The service emphasized that it has not authorized any third parties, including religious organizations, private entities, or individuals, to collect payments on its behalf.

According to a statement released on the NIS's official X handle, the designated platform for passport payments for Nigerians, both within the country and abroad, is https://passport.immigration.gov.ng. For foreigners seeking Nigerian visas, the authorized links are https://visa.immigration.gov.ng for embassy applications and https://evisa.immigration.gov.ng for electronic visa applications.

The Nigeria Immigration Service wishes to reiterate that the only authorised platforms for passport payments for Nigerians (at home and in diaspora) is https://passport.immigration.gov.ng. For foreigners wishing to apply for visa, https://visa.immigration.gov.ng (for visa at the Embassy) and https://evisa.immigration.gov.ng (for e-visa) are the official links.

The NIS reiterated that it has never partnered with or authorized any intermediary to act on its behalf for payment collection. Applicants seeking clarification or assistance are directed to use the service's verified communication channels. These include official X accounts @nigimmigration and @InquireAtNaija, as well as WhatsApp numbers 09160878000 and 09117717772.

The service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring secure and transparent processes for passport and visa applications. The public is strongly advised to be vigilant and avoid engaging with fraudulent intermediaries to prevent falling victim to scams.
