Users report BBVA app failures during payday, transfers delayed

BBVA México customers reported significant issues with the bank's mobile application on Friday, a day that typically sees high transaction volumes due to payday. Users struggled to log in to check their salaries or conduct other banking operations.

Frustrated clients took to social media platform X to voice their complaints. Many described persistent problems accessing the app, being repeatedly asked to reset their passwords, and experiencing delays in the arrival of funds transferred to other accounts. One user expressed their inability to access the app and noted that a transfer they initiated had not yet been received.

Concerns about platform stability grew as payments failed to appear. Another user questioned whether the app was down, given the non-arrival of transfers on a payday Friday. The bank responded to some of these complaints on X, explaining that interbank transfers may take up to 24 business hours to be processed. They advised that if funds do not appear after this period, the beneficiary should contact their own bank.

According to Downdetector, reports of problems with the BBVA application began shortly before 7:00 AM on Friday. The primary issues reported related to accessing the platform and executing transactions. As of the time of reporting, BBVA had not issued an official statement regarding a widespread failure of its digital services.
