USIM Students Honored with Five Awards for Balancing Academics and Extracurriculars

Despite the demanding challenge of balancing academic pursuits with leadership roles and volunteer work, three students from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) have achieved remarkable success. They collectively earned five accolades at the recent Student Excellence Awards (AKSIS) for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Haikal Nazhan Hamdan was distinguished with the prestigious Top Student Award and the Student Leadership Award. His achievements reflect his dedication to both academic excellence and active involvement in campus leadership. Muhammad Akmal Zuhdi Che Mohd Zaini was recognized with the Student Innovation Initiative Award and the Student Volunteer Award, highlighting his contributions to innovative projects and community service.

Irdina Syahirah Shamzulnizam received the Student Community Award, acknowledging her significant engagement and impact within the student community. These awards celebrate the students' hard work and commitment to holistic development during their university years.

Haikal Nazhan expressed that the recognition serves as a testament to his efforts and leadership experiences at USIM, dedicating his success to his family's unwavering support. He encouraged his peers to remain beneficial to others, stay active in student activities, and manage their responsibilities diligently. Muhammad Akmal shared that winning two awards validated his efforts despite the challenges of balancing academics with numerous extracurricular commitments. He noted that participation in programs like Digital Innovation Creative Entrepreneurship (DICE) 3.0 and volunteer initiatives significantly shaped his leadership, communication, and management skills, emphasizing that academics remained his priority.
