Valencia Have Conceded 24 Goals Against Flick’s Barcelona in Five Matches

Valencia’s 5-0 defeat to Barcelona at Mestalla has pushed their record against Hansi Flick’s side to 24 goals conceded in five matches under Carlos Corberán.

Valencia have scored only four times in those games. The run began in the 21st round of the 2024-25 season, when Barcelona won 7-1. The teams met again only days later in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals, and Barcelona won 5-0. The following season brought another heavy defeat, a 6-0 league loss in the fourth round.

The one exception came on the final matchday of the 2025-26 season, when Valencia beat Barcelona 3-1 at Mestalla. Barcelona entered that match after several days of celebrations for winning the league title.

Sunday’s 5-0 result restored the pattern. Across Corberán’s five matches against Barcelona, Valencia have four defeats and one victory, with 24 goals conceded and four scored.

Barcelona’s only victory over Valencia during Flick’s tenure that did not come with Corberán on the bench was the first. Rubén Baraja was still managing Valencia on the opening day of the 2024-25 season, when Barcelona won 2-1. It remains Valencia’s narrowest defeat against Barcelona since Flick took charge.
