Valentín Perrone edges Scott Ogden in thrilling Moto3 practice finish

In a dramatic finish to the Moto3 practice session at the British Grand Prix, Spanish-Argentine rider Valentín Perrone snatched the top spot from Britain's Scott Ogden at the very last moment. Perrone, riding a KTM, set a blistering pace with a best time of 2:09.568, edging out Ogden by a mere 0.010 seconds. The championship leader, Spain's Máximo Quiles, also on a KTM, secured seventh place, trailing Perrone by 0.270 seconds.

The session at Silverstone was dynamic, with Indonesian rider Veda Pratama initially leading. He was soon surpassed by a trio of Spanish riders, including David Almansa, who had been fastest in the morning free practice. Brian Uriarte and Máximo Quiles were also part of this leading group.

Uriarte later improved his time to 2:09.668, placing him ahead of Almansa, Quiles, and fellow KTM rider Marco Morelli. Numerous riders formed large groups throughout the session, drafting behind rivals to improve their lap times, with Almansa serving as a key reference point for many.

As the session neared its end, riders jockeyed for position during the final "time attack." Many waited for a slipstream from another rider to set their fastest laps. David Almansa was again a strong contender, setting fast sector times, though he couldn't improve his personal best. Adrián Cruces, following Almansa, managed to climb to sixth place, while Ireland's Casey O’Gorman moved into second, just 0.083 seconds behind Uriarte, before Perrone's decisive final lap.
