Vatican confirms Pope Leo XIV's tour of Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru

Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to embark on a pastoral visit to Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru from November 6 to 17. The Vatican confirmed the details of the pontiff's upcoming tour, which is undertaken at the invitation of the respective heads of state and religious leaders of the nations.

The papal journey will commence in Uruguay, where the Pope is expected to stay from November 6 to 8. He will then travel to Argentina for a visit lasting from November 8 to 11. The final leg of his tour will be in Peru, where he will spend the remainder of his trip.

This visit holds particular significance for Pope Leo XIV, as he lived in Peru for two decades as a missionary and previously served as the bishop of Chiclayo, a city in northwestern Peru that he is scheduled to visit again. The itinerary includes stops in Montevideo, Paysandú, and Florida in Uruguay; Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Luján in Argentina; and Lima, Chiclayo, Cuzco, and Pucallpa in Peru.
