Vatudovo Taxi Base opens

Villagers in Waidina, Naitasiri, now have improved access to public transportation with the official opening of the Vatuvodo Taxi Base. The new facility was inaugurated by Minister for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport, Ro Filipe Tuisawau.

This opening is part of a broader government plan to gazette 94 taxi stands throughout Fiji. The initiative aims to create new opportunities for taxi operators, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, and local communities, while simultaneously enhancing access to essential services for residents.

The program, which commenced earlier this month, is systematically establishing taxi stands in various communities across the country, extending beyond major urban centers. Minister Tuisawau highlighted that the initiative is designed to boost transport connectivity, foster job creation, and stimulate local economic activity.
