Vaz warns against ‘mischief’ in transportation sector, dismisses claims about disruptions

Jamaica's Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has condemned what he described as efforts to create “mischief” in the transportation sector.

In a media statement posted on X on Sunday, Vaz said people had circulated unsubstantiated claims in recent days about planned disruptions to fuel supplies and transportation operations.

He said the posts had created unnecessary anxiety and uncertainty, prompting people to refuel urgently even though there was no need to do so. The resulting actions, he added, had also created unnecessary costs.
