Veda Ega Pratama focuses on points over Rookie of the Year title

Indonesian Moto3 rider Veda Ega Pratama is focusing on accumulating points throughout the 2026 season rather than solely aiming for the Rookie of the Year title. Pratama expressed satisfaction with his performance halfway through his debut Moto3 season.

"Half a season that has been good for me, especially since this is my first year in Moto3. And at the beginning of the series, the target was just to get points," Pratama said in Jakarta. He has already made history as the first Indonesian rider to achieve a Grand Prix podium, securing third place in the Moto3 Brazil race. Pratama also demonstrated resilience in the Moto3 Czech Republic, climbing from 20th on the grid to finish fifth.

Most recently, at the Moto3 Germany event, Pratama earned crucial points by finishing eighth at the Sachsenring circuit after starting 13th. The rider from Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta, acknowledged that his inaugural season has not been without challenges.

He plans to concentrate on physical training and participate in testing sessions at the Mandalika Circuit as part of his preparation for the upcoming Moto3 Indonesia event in October.
