Venezuela aims to deliver 4,000 homes to earthquake victims by December

Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, has pledged to deliver 4,000 housing units to earthquake victims by December, with monthly deliveries planned. This commitment follows the handover of the first apartments to over 240 families affected by recent seismic activity.

Rodríguez announced that by December, the government will have provided 4,000 homes, with ongoing construction of new units. She also projected that in 2027, more than 10,000 homes will be recovered from previously unfinished buildings. The government is actively reviewing land for new construction projects.

For the 23,587 individuals currently residing in temporary camps, Rodríguez assured them that they would soon have permanent housing. State television VTV broadcast images of Rodríguez touring the newly delivered apartments at Fuerte Tiuna in Caracas, intended for those displaced by earthquakes that left nearly 18,000 people homeless.
