Venezuela falls to Chinese Taipei and says goodbye to the U-17 Women's Volleyball World Cup

Venezuela's journey in the U-17 Women's Volleyball World Cup has concluded after a 0-3 defeat to Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals. The team was eliminated from the tournament held in Chile.

Chinese Taipei dominated the first two sets, winning 25-21 and 25-19. The third set proved more competitive, with Venezuela needing a win to stay in the match. Despite rallying to tie the score at 17-17 and taking brief leads at 19-18 and 20-19, Venezuela ultimately fell 22-25, sealing their exit.

Yalesca Colina once again led Venezuela in scoring with fifteen points against Chinese Taipei, followed by Antonella Lovera with seven. Colina finished the tournament as Venezuela's top scorer with a total of 110 points.

The Venezuelan team's path in the World Cup began with a 3-2 loss to Mexico. They secured their first victory against Peru with a 1-3 score. A subsequent 0-3 loss to China put their advancement in doubt. However, Venezuela rallied in the group stage, achieving a decisive 3-0 victory over Tunisia. Their spot in the knockout stage was confirmed with a hard-fought 3-2 win against the Philippines, which went to a fifth set.
