Venezuela Political Dialogue to Start Next Week with In-Person Meeting

Political negotiations between Venezuela's interim government and a faction of the opposition are scheduled to commence next week, with an initial in-person meeting planned for the capital, Caracas. Jorge Rodríguez, the chief negotiator for the government and president of the National Assembly, announced the agreement on Saturday.

Rodríguez reported that he held a phone conversation with Dinorah Figuera, a prominent opposition leader and the government's counterpart in the negotiations. During their call, they discussed and finalized the composition of their respective working delegations. Rodríguez, who is also the brother of the interim president, stated that they had agreed on holding the first face-to-face meeting in Caracas sometime next week.

The dialogue aims to address the ongoing political and economic crisis in Venezuela.
