Venezuela's acting president names new ministers for housing and environment

Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, has reshuffled her cabinet, appointing new ministers for Housing and Ecosocialism. Paola Posani, a doctor in architecture with extensive public administration experience, takes over the Ministry for Habitat and Housing. She replaces Major General Jorge Márquez Monsalve, who had held the post since March.

Nelson Rodríguez is the new minister of Ecosocialism (Environment), succeeding Freddy Ñáñez, who had been in the role since January. Rodríguez also appointed Juan José Ramírez, the current vice president of Public Works and Services, as head of the 1x10 Good Government System. This mechanism, created in 2022, allows citizens to submit reports, complaints, and proposals.

In other changes, Rosinés Chávez, daughter of the late President Hugo Chávez, was appointed head of the Great Young Venezuela Mission. Since taking office as acting president on January 5, Rodríguez has made several cabinet changes. These include appointing Paula Henao as minister of Hydrocarbons and Luis Villegas to lead the Ministry of National Industries and Commerce, replacing Alex Saab.
