Veteran Nigerian actor Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan buried in Ilaro

Veteran Nigerian actor and screenwriter Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan was laid to rest in Ilaro, Ogun State, following Islamic burial rites. His final journey took place shortly after special prayers at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion.

Kira, one of Hassan's daughters, confirmed the burial on her Instagram page, sharing her grief. The ceremony saw numerous colleagues, friends, and associates from the Nigerian film industry in attendance to pay their final respects. Among them were Madam Saje, Dele Odule, Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Femi Adebayo, and Toyosi Adesanya, who struggled to contain their emotions.

Before the burial, mourners shared tributes, remembering Hassan for his kindness and the joy he brought to those around him. His close friend, Yinka Quadri, was visibly distraught, crying uncontrollably throughout the proceedings. The actor's death came after his daughters revealed his diagnosis with stage-four cancer and appealed for assistance with treatment options, including traditional medicine, after an alleged refusal of care by a hospital.
