Veteran Turkish Actor Can Kolukısa Dies at 92

Veteran Turkish actor Can Kolukısa has passed away at the age of 92. His family announced the news on social media. Kolukısa was a recognizable face in Turkish cinema, known for his character roles in a multitude of projects spanning decades.

Born in Eskişehir on May 14, 1934, Kolukısa pursued his passion for theater after graduating from Işık Lisesi. He studied at the Sorbonne University's Theater Institute in Paris. His acting journey began in 1953 at the Istanbul University Youth Theater. Throughout his career, he worked with various prominent theater groups, including Cep Tiyatrosu, Oda Tiyatrosu, Dormen Tiyatrosu, Sahne Z, and Halk Oyuncuları.

Kolukısa also served as the artistic director for the Gaziantep City Theater between 1991 and 1992. His extensive filmography includes iconic Turkish films such as "Kapıcılar Kralı" (1976), "Züğürt Ağa" (1985), and "Arabesk" (1988), as well as numerous television series like "Muhteşem Yüzyıl" (2013) and "Vatanım Sensin" (2016). His most recent appearances were in "Alef" and "Gibi" in 2021, and he was listed in productions for 2024 and 2025.
